Post the last, of the day

Came home feeling like a zombie whose energy is mostly being channelled to fighting off sickness in a manner most fierce. Cooked dinner, crawled into bed with my laptop. Caught up on some list email and other news sources.

I was going to post to Digilib (which name, by the way, rhymes with jive). There’s much news that is certainly worth passing along! Obama signed the 2009 Consolidated Appropriations Act, which made permanent NIH’s requirement for all of its grantees to make their publications open-access; last year’s Open Access Day becomes this year’s Open Access Week in October; Sun Microsystems is holding an Internet Archive/Sun Modular Datacenter open house (that’s where the Wayback Machine is housed!)…

This is the sort of stuff that I keep an eye out for, and point out to faculty, administrators and staff at BU who might find it useful or interesting. Part of my job is keeping up with the digital humanities world and disseminating information.

So I was going to post all of that to Digilib, but ended up posting it here instead.
